Dear School, Teacher, and Friends,
With the current ongoing issues with COVID-19 and the announcement of school closures, I wanted to make you know we are here to Help You.
Service Status:
Somerset County Council staff are in the main working from home to stop the spread of COVID-19, we have also taken the decision to stop all schools support visits. With this in mind, we are fully aware that your need for help, support and guidance is still needed. We are offering all our supported schools and non-supported schools any assistance they may need.
ALL SCHOOLS can have unlimited remote support with a member of my team to ensure we keep your school working as needed. We are here to help, please just log a call, ticket or drop us an email. If an engineer is needed for any urgent on site work, this can be arranged subject to following social distancing rules, with hand-washing facilities and a clear space to work is available.
If you need any help or advice with remote working, access to schools’ data, teaching children from home etc please contact us. However please note some of these items may need time to set up, and can have an additional cost attached to them. However, we would keep these to the minimum for you and do our best to sort any of these issues as soon as possible.
Teaching and Working From Home:
We have set some schools up already with Google Education, Purple Mash, Microsoft Teams, VPN to name but a few.
As a fully supported Partner with Apple, Google and Microsoft, via our working partners, we can deliver most solutions to ensure all schools can continue working securely and safely. We can help deploy and install all Distance Learning Platforms, and supply training and support in there use to ensure all staff, Teacher and Pupils can work effectively.

Free Training for Google:
We have set up free Training Direct with Google for teaching Staff next week and will share more details shortly.
