The Department for Education (DfE) has set out new standards for schools and colleges to meet moving forward when choosing an internet connection type, connection speed, resilience and safeguarding. Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) statutory guidance has been updated and the new requirements come into effect from September 1, 2022. Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) is a key document for those working with children and young people.

The guidelines outline the ‘four C’s’, which specify the potentially harmful and inappropriate online material that pupils and staff should be educated about and protected from.
