Well, what a year it’s been!

Yes, it’s been tough! However, we have been amazed at what has been achieved this year, particularly by our schools. You have all been amazing! We have tried to ensure service continuity throughout the year and feel we have ‘risen to the challenges’ that we have encountered as well.

As a response to the Coronavirus situation, the government encouraged schools to quickly prepare and provide digital education platforms, whether it was Google Classroom or MS Teams. As part of this we, along with our partners Getech Schools, have been providing GSuite Training for schools, which was integral to this roll-out. We were also instrumental in the implementation of the Dfe laptops for schools, ensuring all children have access to devices to support their remote learning. This really was a significant achievement for all involved, and will have undoubtedly made a big difference to children’s wellbeing  & educational outcomes.

We also had our first virtual conference – SWEET 2020 in October. This experience will definitely encourage us to do more events like this, probably a hybrid approach whereby we have a physical and virtual conference/event. This really does offer the best of both worlds for our school community and the flexibility they need.

As part of the SLP dismantling project, we have also been busy moving our SLP school websites from SharePoint to WordPress. This offers schools a much more suitable website environment, which is reliable, easy to use, and looks good! The feedback from our schools which have already launched their new websites is definitely very favourable.

We have worked on many school projects this year as well, everything from installing wireless and interactive panels, Sophos cloud migration and also providing new services to schools, such as Windows Server 2016 Upgrade – whereby schools can upgrade their current server to extend the remote working capabilities for their staff to work from home.

This year we have also become a fully certified Google Cloud Partner which means we can support you even more with the range of Google products and services available.

We look forward to bringing you more new and improved services in 2021!

We wish you a well deserved Christmas break and we look forward to a happy and healthier 2021!
